Many people get worried about putting on weight during winter, but that doesn’t have to be the case!
When it cools down, we naturally want to hibernate and eat comfort foods to help us feel warm and cosy.
And you can still do that, just be more intentional about it.
Here are some tips on how to be more intentional with winter eating:
- enjoy homemade soups and stews packed with loads of vegetables,
- drink lots of water to stay hydrated and keep flushing your system,
- cut back on nuts (as they are very dense and should only be eaten in small amounts),
- instead of rice, eat grains such as quinoa,
- drink herbal teas as they are warming and comforting and increase your water intake,
- eat lean meats,
- and don’t overeat – portion control is so important.
It’s important to plan your meals so you can cut back on takeaway – home-cooked meals are always best, as you know exactly what goes into them and they are not laden with extra sugars.
It’s easy to spend a couple of hours batch cooking and then freezing portions, so you’ll always be prepared with a meal after a long day’s work.
Make sure you’re getting enough exercise and movement too. The more you remind yourself to stay active and keep moving, the warmer you will be!
Getting 20 – 30 minutes of exercise every day, or at least several times a week will help you stay warm and keep those kilos at bay.
We also recommend our Herbs Online Shop Weight Loss Powder – it helps to optimise weight loss and decrease hunger cravings. A lovely blend of Protein Powder, L-Glutamine for vitamin and mineral absorption, Citrulline which helps to increase oxygen content in the muscles and improve exercise performance, and more.
The Weight Loss Powder is designed to replace one or two meals and also supports exercise performance and reduces cravings and sugar and carbohydrate metabolism.
We’ll give you some great smoothie recipes to go with it too.
You can also try our Slimming and Weight Loss Herbal Drops which help to balance blood sugar, curb cravings and help to keep you feeling full for longer.

Of course, you’ll need Magnesium – Magnesium helps with energy production and an active lifestyle,
Migraine headache management, Maintenance of normal blood pressure in healthy individuals, a healthy nervous system function, healthy glucose metabolism and bone mineral density.
Magnesium also helps with stress, nervous tension and mild anxiety. Our Magnesium Citrate is easily absorbed and fast acting.
Vitamin D is a must for maintaining a healthy immune system. It also helps to support strong bones and muscle strength.
And given that there are usually a few bugs going around during winter, it’s probably a good idea to supplement with a complete Multivitamin as well.
We have a High strength, multivitamin and mineral, with activated B vitamins and highly absorbable minerals, which may help to maintain the body’s nutritional needs. Perfect for these shorter, cold days. Especially if you are vegetarian or vegan, supplementing with a high-strength Multivitamin such as this one helps to increase additional nutrients such as iron, calcium, zinc, vitamins B1, B12, B6, folate and magnesium.
Staying in shape during winter isn’t that hard. You just need to be a little more prepared with your food intake and ensure you’re getting adequate exercise and sleep.
