Reiki Healing with Alex Knysh
Karen Morris
You might have heard the word ‘Reiki’ in the world of health and wellness, but you may be unsure of what ‘Reiki’ actually is, and therefore unaware of its incredible benefits and how it can help you. If that is the case, then this blog is for you! Reiki is a form of Japanese energy healing that aims to restore harmony in the mind and body. The word Reiki is broken down like this – Rei means “higher power” or “spiritual power” and Ki means “energy”. Alex Knysh from Reiki Healing in Rozelle specialises in healing others using the power of Reiki. Her website which you can find here explains the process and the power behind Reiki.
How does it work?
“During a treatment, you remain fully clothed and usually lie on the treatment table while the practitioner gently places her hands on certain parts of the body. The hands can get quite warm as the Reiki energy flows. Many people find relief after just one or two sessions and claim to feel more relaxed and at peace than they have in a long time”.
What does Reiki help with?
Alex explains that “Reiki helps with healing, personal development, spiritual discipline and connection to self and connection to Source”
A Reiki treatment in Rozelle with Alex can be helpful healing for:
- Stress
- Anxiety
- Depression
- Headaches
- Physical Pain
- Emotional Pain
- Insomnia/Sleeplessness
- High Blood Pressure
- Lack of energy
- Lack of clarity
- Low confidence
- Low self-esteem/worth
- Spiritual guidance
Alex also offers services with Energy Coaching, Hypnosis and EFT for Kids (Emotional Freedom Technique). Many of my clients have visited Alex for help with pain management, help with quitting smoking, weight loss assistance and relieving stress and anxiety. Reiki can be a very powerful healing technique for any emotional misalignment – depression, grief and feelings of hopelessness are emotions which, with the help of Reiki can be moved through the body, allowing the person to process and dispel the emotion which creates room for energy to focus on healing, growth, recovery and creation of a new life and new and improved experiences.
Are there risks or side effects to Reiki?
There are no risks or side effects to Reiki, however due to the nature of the emotional healing and gentle movement of energy in the body, the nature of the healing can bring old memories to the surface for healing. This is the purpose of Reiki, to move energy that has been trapped in the body, suppressed by the person due to its discomfort. During a Reiki healing, you are in a safe place and so it is important to take the time for yourself and to trust yourself to bring these emotions to the surface so you can heal from them and therefore have available energy to create a new life experience. Some clients may express emotions that cause them to cry, this is simply the stored emotions being expressed. A sense of relief and a feeling of being cleansed is often followed after releasing these stored emotions.
What do I have to do during a session?
All you have to do is be open to memories and emotions rising to the surface and being released with the help of the practitioner. What does this look like? You simply lay on the treatment table or mat, eyes closed and that’s it! Alex will use her extensive skills in Reiki and will slowly begin to move her hands over your body, this is how the energy is moved through the body. This is a trained skill and to a beginner it may look odd but it is as simple as you laying on the table or mat, and simply having an open mind and heart. You will feel energy move through your body which may feel like tingles on the skin, heat or gentle waves of energy flowing through your body.
How do I make an appointment?
You can make an appointment for a Face to Face healing, a phone healing or an online healing via Zoom, whichever you prefer, all three are extremely effective. You can even book your appointment direct on the website which you can find here. Alex is based at 3/670 Darling Street, Rozelle, NSW, Australia (Above Rozelle Medical Centre).
