Wild Yam Herbal Drops
Description
Common Name: Wild Yam
Botanical Name: Dioscorea villosa
Part Used: Root
Ratio: 1:1
Main indication - menopause, hot flushes, female infertility.
Diosgenin or wild yam is often promoted as a “natural alterative” to estrogen therapy, so you will see it used for estrogen replacement therapy, vaginal dryness in older women, PMS (premenstrual syndrome), menstrual cramps, weak bones (osteoporosis), increasing energy and sexual drive in men and women, and breast enlargement.
Wild yam does seem to have some estrogen-like activity, but it is not actually converted into estrogen in the body. It takes a laboratory to do that.
Also useful for:
Gastrointestinal spasm, including colic; poor gallbladder function
Dysmenorrhoea, ovarian pain
Relief of arthritic complaints and muscular cramps
Caution may be warranted in patients with gallstones.
Precautions
Not for use during pregnancy or lactation.
If you have a medical condition or take pharmaceutical drugs please consult your doctor prior to use.
1ml = 1000mg of dry herb
Adult Dose: 2ml once to four times daily.
We will automatically send a 'Duty of Care' form for you to fill out.
So that we can ensure no herb/medication interactions.
