Betaine is a natural compound used for the relief of symptoms associated with underproduction of hydrochloric acid. The recommended dose is 400mg, taken immediately prior a main meal once or twice daily.

Betaine may also be indicated when the levels of homocysteine are above normal, a known cardiovascular risk factor.
