Baical Scullcap Herbal Drops
Description
Common Name: Baical Skullcap
Botanical Name: Scutellaria baicalensis
Part Used: Root
Ratio: 1:1
Baical skullcap (Scutellaria baicalensis Root) is used to treat respiratory infections, hay fever, dermatitis, eczema, urticaria and fever.
Baical Sculcap is antiallergic and anti inflammatory.
Allergies
Baical skullcap’s active compound wogonin reduced the allergic response to mites in human skin cells. Baikal Skulcap reduced the allergic response by decreasing levels of histamine and other inflammatory compounds. Skullcap reduced the inflammatory response to allergenic proteins by decreasing IgE antibodies and cytokine levels. The herb also prevented allergy-triggering proteins from being absorbed in the gut.
Asthma
Baicalin from baical scullcap showed anti-asthmatic activity (antihistaminic and anticholinergic activity) in isolated tracheal muscle. Reducing hypesensitivity and inflammation in airways is vital to managing asthma. Its traditional use supports the relief of night time asthma symptoms.
Psoriasis and Dermatitis
One case report described the successful treatment of psoriasis with a topical ointment containing Sculcap baicalensis.
