The Power of Burdock
Karen Morris
To kick-start my five days of blogs, I thought I’d start with the power of Burdock!
Burdock is one of those herbs that helps and heals a wide variety of health concerns. It’s healing benefits come from the entire plant with the seed, root, and leaf all being suitable to use as medicine (and in some cases food!). Burdock is one of my most popular herbs on www.herbsonlineshop.com as I send out at least 20 bottles every week! As you can see on this helpful Web MD article (read more here) Burdock acts as a blood purifier, and as you can see from the below list, it does so much more than that
• Heals acne and other skin complaints such as psoriasis
• Reduce high blood pressure
• Reduces joint pain
• Helps to treat bladder infections
• Treats and eases complications stemming from syphilis
So how does it work exactly?
Well, Burdock as a blood cleanser works by purifying the lymphatic system. Used for thousands of years, it’s healing benefits are widely acknowledged across many different cultures due to the active ingredients in the herb being able to detoxify the body from heavy metals. This detoxification and lymphatic drainage results in an all-round improvement from skin health to organ health. It is a highly recommended herb if you suffer from any kind of skin condition, as burdock encourages blood flow to the surface of the skin which improves circulation. As blood flow is increased to the skin, more nutrients and healing can be received. For this reason, Burdock is used to treat acne, eczema and even psoriasis. I also prescribe Burdock for it’s ability to act as a natural diuretic.
At www.herbsonlineshop.com I stock Burdock Liquid Herbal Extract, Burdock Root Powder and Burdock Root as a dried herb. Why not give me a call to discuss which form of Burdock is best suited to you?
