10 Minutes to Completely Change Your Physical State and Reduce Stress, Re-centre and Feel Peace and Joy

Today I would like to use this blog to help bring awareness to our cortisol (stress) levels and to provide a powerful technique to help reduce our cortisol levels. This 10 minute visualisation is a transformative way to re-centre ourselves and provide the body an opportunity to find peace, even when we have multiple things causing us stress.
Use this ten minute visualisation exercise three times per day, or if you feel like once is enough then that is great too.
Sit in a quiet, dark room with no distractions. You can play some soft quiet music to help if you like.
In this exercise we will visualize a ‘safe deposit box’ in our mind. Imagine a strong, sturdy safe box with a lock. Picture it in vivid detail, from the colour to the material, to the size and weight. Picture the lock, is it a combination lock, a digital lock, a lock with a key? The more specific the better. Start your visualization with the box being open.
As you visualize the box, think about your current stressors and one by one place them into the box. As you do this, tell yourself the following:
“I don’t need to worry about this right now, my stressors are safe here and a solution will come when I finally let them go. As I let my stressors sit safely in this box, I clear space and energy in my body to make room for a solution”.
Breathe in and out. Breathe deeply. Repeat.
“I don’t need to worry about this right now, my stressors are safe here and a solution will come when I finally let them go. As I let my stressors sit safely in this box, I clear space and energy in my body to make room for a solution.”
Breathe in and out. Breathe deeply. Repeat one last time.
“I don’t need to worry about this right now, my stressors are safe here and a solution will come when I finally let them go. As I let my stressors sit safely in this box, I clear space and energy in my body to make room for a solution.”
Then, place each stressor into the box – a person, a situation, an event, a memory…one by one place them into the box. Then visualize closing the box and repeat the words one last time
“I don’t need to worry about this right now, my stressors are safe here and a solution will come when I finally let them go. As I let my stressors sit safely in this box, I clear space and energy in my body to make room for a solution.”
Feel yourself letting the worries go and a feeling of joy coming over you.
Feel yourself creating that energetic space for solution, and know that the feeling of peace and surrender must come first before a solution. Peace and surrender creates space for healing and in and of itself, peace and surrender is always the solution. If action needs to be taken, the knowledge of the right action will come to you as you feel peace and surrender.
